I am greatly honoured, and at the same time humbled, to be elected as the President of IIM. I am much thankful to the Council and the Members.

The IIM was founded by men of great vision, clarity and foresight. Subsequently the persons of eminence who held the Presidentship over the next sixty odd years were outstanding leaders of industry, academia and R&D. They all contributed in no small measure towards making IIM the institution of high stature that it is today. They have been path-finders and path-breakers. I salute them all. Taking there examples, I commit myself to uphold the spirit of IIM, and the dignity of the metallurgical profession. .........   more
