:: The Meeting Schedule ::
The International Symposium will begin at 9:00 hours on Monday, 13th November allowing all the delegates to be in Jamshedpur, latest by Sunday, 12th November evening. Whether the delegates come by rail or by air, volunteers will guide them to the hotel/guest house where the delegates will be staying. A special coach will be provided by South Eastern Railways to bring the delegates from Howrah to Tatanagar by the Steel Express departing Howrah 17:35 hours on 12th November. Similarly, special bus arrangements are being made to bring the delegates from Ranchi airport to Jamshedpur by road – the exact schedule of this service will depend on the requirements. Please let the Travel Agent know your plans.
There will be nine invited papers in STATS 2006 – the details of the information available so far are given separately. The speakers will cover the entire gamut of steels for automotives: both from the steel producers’ and the auto makers’ points of view. Renowned speakers are being especially invited by the Organisers to make STATS 2006 a truly memorable event that you can not afford to miss. The Tata Auditorium in the XLRI campus (please see map for details) will be the venue for the one-day international symposium.
The NMD celebrations will also take place at the Tata Auditorium, beginning 9:00 hours on Tuesday, 14th November. Two well known dignitaries will grace the function as the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. All the prizes awarded by the Steel Ministry and IIM will be distributed in the forenoon. The N. P. Gandhi and the Daya Swarup Memorial Lectures will be delivered in the afternoon in the same auditorium. The G. D. Birla Award winner’s lecture and the talks by the other Award winners will follow.
The day will end with a visit to the Jubilee Park to witness a special Laser Show followed by a gala dinner at the Beldih Club. On subsequent days, the dinners will be at or near the Beldih Club and will be preceded on 15th November by an entertainment programme featuring an artist of national fame.
The ATM papers will be presented in three parallel sessions in smaller auditoria in the XLRI campus and its neighbourhood. All the venues for these sessions are within 200 metres of each other and within walking distance.
Lunch on all days will be served in an area adjoining the Tata Auditorium, beside which will be the venue for the Technical Exhibition and the Poster Papers so that the delegates have ready access.
