:: Welcome to Jamshedpur ::
The Indian Institute of Metals and Tata Steel, as the Joint Organisers,
are leaving no stone unturned to make the NMD celebrations in
Jamshedpur, in IIM's Diamond Jubilee Year, a memorable event.
Special efforts have been made to make this year’s event a
benchmark. Two new features are being introduced i) A special
session in which six metallurgists who have made significant
contributions will reminisce about their association with Indian
Industry/Research/Education, and IIM, and ii) Participation of third
year Metallurgy / Materials Science students from 12 selected
engineering colleges. All these efforts will come to naught if delegates
from India and overseas do not come to Jamshedpur in large
numbers. The Organisers extend a most hearty welcome to all
delegates.
This is the last and final communication that you will be receiving
about the Mid-November 2006 mega event. Therefore, an attempt is
being made to provide all the latest information about the event so that
the delegates come fully prepared. If you have any queries or need
any assistance, please contact the appropriate person as per details
given on the inside back cover of this circular as early as possible. The
Organisers look forward to the pleasure of your company along with
your spouses/companions, if possible.
The events between Monday 13th November and Thursday, 16th
November (four days) are detailed below. Some delegates may also
wish to join the optional plant visit to Tata Steel on 17th November
morning.
Monday, 13th November: International
Symposium on Steels for Automotives
(STATS 2006) at the Tata Auditorium (XLRI
