Lifetime Membership

Any Company, Institution, Government Department, Corporation or individual, connected with the metallurgical industry, education research, will be eligible to be elected as Patron Members.
Any Company which satisfies the qualification for a Patron Member, but whose annual turnover is less than Rupees five crores will be eligible for this class of membership.
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy or equivalent discipline, OR AMIIM exams (Part I & II) conducted by IIM with 3 years experience, OR Masters' degree in Metallurgy or equivalent with 1 year experience, OR Bachelor / Master degree in other engineering discipline / Ph.D. in Physics / Chemistry / Geology with 5 years experience OR Diploma in Metallurgy with 5 years experience OR Diploma in other Engineering Disciplines / B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Geology with at least 7 years experience OR Degree from recognised University and proposed / recommended by at least 3 Past Presidents of the IIM
Shall be such other persons as are directly engaged in the promotion of science and art of making ,shaping and treating of metals and alloys for a period of not less than 10 years who in the opinion of the Council are qualified for membership. OR Any person who is not eligible for Membership of the Institute in any other way, but whose association with the Institute will in the view of the Committee be useful to the Institute may be elected as a Professional Member.

Large Scale

Shall be individual, companies, corporations, firms, industrial or trade associations or such other organisation as the Council may deem as properly coming under this classification.

Small Scale

Shall be individual, companies, corporations, firms, industrial or trade associations or such other organisation as the Council may deem as properly coming under this classification.

Student Member (Studying Met.)

Studying Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Can be a student member till completion of Degree.

Student Member (Studying Dip.)

Studying Diploma in Metallurgical Engineering. Can be a student member till completion of Degree.

Student Member (Studying other than Met.)

Studying Bachelor's Degree in Engineering other than Metallurgy. Can be a student member till completion of Degree.

Student Affiliate Member

A member of a Student Affiliate Chapter of the Institute.
